About Cedar Mountain, NC
Cedar Mountain is a hamlet located close to Brevard, NC off scenic Hwy 276. At 2704’ in elevation, it has historically been a summer getaway destination for residents of the low county of SC. Cool breezes, dense hardwood forest and clear, cold mountain water are the backdrop for this magical location. Transylvania County is famously known as the ‘Land of Waterfalls’ - boasting over 250 named waterfalls. Dupont State Forest is home to some of the most notable falls including Triple Falls, High Falls and Bridal Veil Falls, just to name a few.
The center of the hamlet is where Hwy 276 and Staton Road intersect. Here you will find the extremely popular and tasty Cedar Mountain Cafe. Cedar Mountain Moonshine Distillery is here too and has free outdoor community music shows on Friday evenings in the summer. The Cedar Mountain Canteen is a very popular watering hole and offers live music several days a week. Next to the Canteen is The Hiker and The Hound outfitters shop, it’s super fun to look through with an eclectic variety of goods.
Another unique local historic attraction is an open air chapel, Faith Memorial Chapel. It’s story starts in 1894 with the current chapel being built in 1938. It is a rustic log and stone chapel with a flagstone floor. Services are on Sundays from Memorial Day thru Labor Day.

Comfortable for up to 4 people, this small 3 bedroom/2 bathroom home has all you need for a relaxing or adventurous getaway.
Nightly rates run $150 - $180 per night depending on season. 3 night minimum stay. 10% discount for booking 1 week or more.
Pet-Friendly Either Way
Where every family member—dogs included—can relax.
Dogs are allowed with an additional fee and the agreement that they will be crated if being left alone in the home.
We’ve never had the need for a fenced dog yard here, so there isn’t one at the house.
Extended Stay Option
Fully equipped home designed for longer getaways or remote work. The kitchen has everything you need for daily living. We have fiber optic cable high speed wifi and streaming television. We also keep a Verizon network extender in the home so that cell service is always solid.
Rent runs from $2,500 - $3,500/month depending on the season. 2 month minimum booking.
